Clinical Care approach
The world is full of tremendous suffering and remarkable beauty. My approach to counseling honors each individual and draws heavily from anti-oppressive social work practices, intercultural experiences, and the richness of our human diversity.
Together we uncover areas of one’s experience that is causing one to not be well and cultivate a path toward healing.
I support individuals, children, families and communities by promoting their own well-being and capacity to recover from adversity. This work may include restoring relationships with others or ones-self. I support the healing process so that life can be embraced and a future can be envisioned with greater acceptance, hope and fortitude.
“An agency’s duty of care to its workers includes actions to promote well-being and avoid long-term exhaustion, injury or illness. Managers must make aid workers aware of the risk and protect them from exposure to unnecessary threats to their physical and emotional health.”
Staff Care & Organizational Resiliency
In order for holistic care to be of service and bridge the gap in mental health, the culture and voice of each affected persons must be at the forefront.
Through participatory methods, I nurture holistic systems, approaches and amplify front line workers' resilience and well-being. Staff care and well-being plays a key role in sustained resiliency.
